Work, pray, love!

healing angels altar eveningby beCause CEO Nadine Hack – As this year draws to a close, I think about what’s been most important to me. WORK: I’ve had tremendous fulfillment from my work with beCause clients and with executive education participants at IMD, recently in Advanced Strategic Management (ASM) and Strategies for Leadership (SL). PRAY: as I’ve dealt with major family health crises, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the power of intentional, supportive energy friends and family – of every conceivable faith-based tradition – have shared with me. LOVE: is what makes all things worthwhile; the passion that sparks me to keep on keeping on.  Whether we have worked together or shared special (or simple) moments in life, that love is what makes life magic and glorious even during the most challenging times.

Nadine this is beautiful. Love never ends! Everything else will end, but faith, hope, and love will never end. Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy New Year. <3

    1 Corinthians 13:1-3
1 I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if I do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal. 2 I may have the gift of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God and have all knowledge, and I may have faith so great I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing. 3 I may give away everything I have, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing if I do not have love.

    1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. 6 Love takes no pleasure in evil but rejoices over the truth. 7 Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always endures.

    1 Corinthians 13:8-13
8 Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will stop. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will come to an end. 9 The reason is that our knowledge and our ability to prophesy are not perfect. 10 But when perfection comes, the things that are not perfect will end. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I stopped those childish ways. 12 It is the same with us. Now we see a dim reflection, as if we were looking into a mirror, but then we shall see clearly. Now I know only a part, but then I will know fully, as God has known me. 13 So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

    Hi Nadine,
Thank you so much for your post. I agree completely that work, prayer and love are the most important components to our daily lives. Especially, love. It has gotten me through very difficult times this year, including the loss of my mother, and health issues. Had it not been for the love shown to me by friends, co-workers and neighbors, this year would have been very difficult for me! I’m always amazed at what we can accomplish when we open ourselves to receiving love from those around us!

    Have a wonderful holiday season!

It is always nice to take a step back and take a deep breath. There is a lot of noise out there and we are all a part of it but I think it is nice when every once in a while we are on the “up stroke” and look over and smile at each other to let them know that we are still here.

I’m really glad you are in my circle, club, friends, clique…whatever you want to call it but I know who you are. Have a wonderful and fabulous holiday season Nadine.

I am drawing those same conclusions. I’ve learnt that work is very therapeutic but without faith, we are just lost souls. And love may be omnipresent, but is felt only by those who have faith.

In my (online) network it is so rare to confess faith, actually absent – in the offline network this exists and this makes me think about the different networks. With my best wishes for you!

    Nadine,
Very concise and from your heart in such a beautiful way. Having lost my mother 3 years ago I remember traveling after Christmas to be with her and knowing it was my last time. You understand that love is what binds us through the years of work and experience.
My mother was always praying for us and the she died on a Saturday in January just shy of her 90 birthday. The priest told us that was a special day because it was very special to Mary the mother of Jesus who my mother prayed to much of her life.

My best intentions for you this time of year and into the next as you continue to do amazing work around the globe. You inspire so many of us.

The trying times do indeed make us realize what is important. It is inspiring to know who stands with you in your time of need; often those you never thought would be there for you. What I have discovered and rediscovered is that you never stop being surprised by love…it forever opens a window on to the best things in life, provides you with an opportunity to experience things more fully, including pain…and gives you the strength to heal, even when there is a place in your heart that can never be filled. I only wish the joy many feel at this time of year was the norm and the openness and giving people do at the close of the year was the way we lived our lives…I know you do…and it remains an inspiration to all who have and will comment here. Love to you and Jerry

Nadine´s message is testifying the most centric, myorigo of the humans life. Miyamoto Musashi 1584 – June 13, 1645) reached his most best strategies, the enlightened path at the age of 50. He wrote The Book of Five Rings – Go Rin No Sho – inwhich he testifies etc: 1) work real hard and hard work 2) do art 3) think honestly 4) don´t do anything which do not matter 5) know your path.
Nadine is absolutely right, when encouraging us to pray, love and work – to find real meaning and importance in life (soon as possible). Steve Jobs sayed that the life is too short to live with other peoples dreams – find your own and start making it. If you don´t pray, you don´t find your ´pervus´ (a antique Greek word which leave as a peanut for your all). God speed to all of us =)

Whilst I feel a sense of fullfillment and accomplishment from the things I do in my professional life, my efforts, progress and motivation at work is indeed supported by caring and loving family. Not least, praying helps us to appreciate the things that we have been given.

Love, Faith and Work – we have come to see all these three as sepatae areas of life, and yet they belong together: for work to be fulfilling, you need to love what you do, and love the people your work with. And if you have no faith in the value of the work you do, you might as well quit doing it. Love without faith – is it even love? And love that doesn’t get your hands, your feet and your mind moving – is i even love?

These three powerful energies need each other to reach their potential, and if all of them come together, something magical can happen.

I wish you and your family a magical time during these holidays, Nadine!

    Love!

Nadine. Your year end blog is so on target. A fulfilling life has all of these components: work, pray, love. They all fulfill us in complimentary ways. Having lived through more than one health challenge where I attribute much of my survival to modern medicine and unconditional love, I think they both have enormous influence on the outcomes. Fulfilling work , that which we enjoy, also feeds our well being and soothes our souls.
